Objectives: The aim of this course is to critically examine the development of science and mathematics concepts in early childhood in the light of the learning trajectories approach and current empirical research; to enable students to evaluate the theoretical framework, methodology, measurement tools and findings of research in this field against scientific criteria; and to enable them to translate research findings into original, targeted activity frameworks that are based on learning trajectories and adaptable to the Türkiye Century Maarif Model Preschool Education Programme.

Objectives: The aim of this course is to examine early literacy based on its theoretical, developmental, and scientific foundations, rather than through activities implemented during the preschool period. The course will provide an in-depth analysis of the emergence of early literacy, key approaches, its relationship with developmental theories, its multi-component structure, and its place within the context of early childhood education. This course aims to train teachers and researchers who can distinguish early literacy from early reading and writing instruction, ground their activities in theoretical rationales, and critically interpret the relevant literature.
Content: Historical development of the concept of early literacy and current theoretical approaches; developmental and linguistic foundations of early literacy; relationships between early literacy and subsequent reading and writing achievement; development and interrelationships of oral language, vocabulary, phonological and phonemic awareness, print awareness, alphabet knowledge, early writing, narrative skills, and listening comprehension; relationship of early literacy to cognitive and socio-emotional development domains; effects of home and classroom literacy environments on early literacy development; adult-child interaction, and shared and interactive book-reading approaches; methods and tools used to assess early literacy skills; early literacy difficulties and early identification of at-risk children; intervention programs and evidence-based practices to support early literacy; family-based early literacy practices; effects of digital literacy, e-books, digital stories, and new technologies on early literacy; early literacy in diverse sociocultural and linguistic contexts; critical examination of current national and international research in the field of early literacy from theoretical, methodological, and practical perspectives; identification of research problems in the field of early literacy and development of research-based practice recommendations.

Objectives: The aim of this course is to enable teacher candidates to develop fundamental knowledge and understanding of the concept of family, the historical development of the family, and different family structures; to recognize the characteristics and needs of families in special circumstances; and to gain knowledge about family education programs implemented in Türkiye and around the world. The course also addresses the importance and benefits of family involvement in early childhood education, barriers to family involvement, family-school communication, and family involvement strategies. It aims to equip teacher candidates with the knowledge and skills to plan, implement, and evaluate family involvement practices and to develop appropriate communication and involvement strategies by taking into account the diverse characteristics and needs of families.

Objectives: The purpose of this course is to equip prospective educators with the knowledge and skills necessary for technology integration. By introducing various models and solutions for incorporating technology, the course explains how technological learning and associated processes can be developed. Students gain the ability to create and implement technology integration plans tailored to their own curricula, while also learning how to engage effectively within diverse educational environments and disciplines. Furthermore, the course addresses the ethical and legal responsibilities associated with the use of technology, aiming to foster professional growth through the appropriate application of science and technology.
Content: This course aims to equip graduate-level educators with the skills to integrate technology into their curricula in an effective and efficient manner. Throughout the course, candidates will examine the theoretical foundations of technology integration, practices related to the use of technology across various learning environments and disciplines, and diverse approaches for evaluating effective technology integration. Furthermore, candidates will develop the ability to create and implement technology integration plans tailored to their own specific curricula.

Objectives: The aim of this course is to examine how science and mathematics concepts are constructed and progress developmentally in early childhood within the framework of the learning trajectories approach, and to enable students to use this knowledge to design inclusive, sustainability-oriented science and mathematics activities that are aligned with the Türkiye Century Maarif Model Preschool Education Programme and assessed through observation, and to transfer them to classroom practice. The course focuses on enabling practising teachers and administrators to read current research findings and translate them into classroom practice.
